The SONshine Center is a day center for adults with special needs that opened in August, 2015. Our program gives our students a loving, fun, and educational environment in which they can socialize and be around peers. We currently serve 126 AllSTARS (SUPER TALENTED AWESOME RADIANT STUDENTS) and have been contacted by many more families wishing to place their adult child with us.

Help Our AllSTARS Shine Brighter! 🌟

This North Texas Giving Day, we’re raising funds to provide our AllSTARS with improved technology—because every individual deserves access to the tools they need to learn, communicate, grow, and shine!

Technology can open doors that might otherwise be difficult to reach. With updated and accessible devices, our AllSTARS will have greater opportunities to participate in meaningful learning experiences, build independence, strengthen communication skills, and connect with the world around them.

For our AllSTARS, technology isn’t simply a screen or a device—it can be a voice, a learning tool, a bridge to independence, and a way to discover what they are capable of accomplishing.

Your North Texas Giving Day donation will help us equip our students with the technology they need to learn more, communicate more, achieve more, and shine brighter. ✨

Help us invest in our AllSTARS and give them the tools to reach their fullest potential!

🌟 Every gift makes a difference. Every AllSTAR deserves the opportunity to shine! 🌟

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to embrace individuals with special needs by focusing on their abilities. A structured environment and intentional planning will allow each individual to participate throughout the day in activities that will enrich their lives.

Needs

This year we are in need of funding for improved student technology to ensure that our AllSTARS have access to the tools necessary for meaningful learning and communication. Many of our AllSTARS rely on technology to support academic instruction, develop functional life skills, increase independence, and access communication supports. Updated iPads will provide individualized learning opportunities, increase student engagement, and help bridge gaps in communication and participation. With additional funding, we can equip our AllSTARS with the resources they need to reach their full potential and successfully navigate their environment.

Equity Statement

The SONshine Center is an equal opportunity organization and will not allow discrimination based upon age, ethnicity, ancestry, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, or any other status prohibited by applicable law.
