The ministry started in 2002 by passing out sandwiches to the homeless community under the bridges on Loop 12 in Dallas. It was accelerated in early 2003 during the wintry mix when the founders had the pleasure of accommodating a stranger who was homeless and stranded in the cold weather on I-20 in Arlington, Texas. More and more friends were invited to their house for warm food, showers, a change of clothes, and prayers.
Loving people is one of our core values. Outreaches have been conducted in different cities in the DFW Metroplex, Arlington, Dallas, Kennedale, Forest Hills, and Fort Worth. By a leap of faith, in 2016 the founders decided to branch out and rent an abandoned old club in the Poly Community of Fort Worth in order to serve a larger community of the unsheltered.
At the old club at 2100 Vaughn Blvd., the couple and two small children started the ministry with funds for one month's rent and utilities. Friends, neighbors, businesses, and churches have been donating their time and resources ever since that opening day. The ministry became known as the Fishers of Men Outreach Center. Many lives have been changed physically, mentally, and spiritually with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God for all the donors that continue to provide their prayers and support for our ministry!
