Support Flaunt Flat Revolution (FFR) This North Texas Giving Day 2024!

At Flaunt Flat Revolution (FFR), our mission is clear: to empower women diagnosed with breast cancer by helping them understand their surgical options post-mastectomy. Founded by Farahana Kassam, whose personal breast cancer journey inspired this cause, FFR provides essential information, mentorship, and a supportive community for women navigating this critical decision.

Why FFR Matters:

Breast cancer treatment often focuses on various reconstructive options, but one crucial choice—Aesthetic Flat Closure (AFC)—is frequently overlooked. AFC, or post-mastectomy chest wall reconstruction, offers an option to flatten the chest wall after mastectomy, yet many women are not informed about this choice. At FFR, we are committed to raising awareness about AFC, empowering women to embrace the flat option if it aligns with their personal choice.

What We Do:

For Patients:

  • Raise Awareness: Highlight Aesthetic Flat Closure (AFC) as a valid post-mastectomy option.
  • Provide Resources: Offer detailed information to help women make informed decisions.
  • Foster Community: Create a supportive space for women to connect and celebrate their bodies.
  • Educational Workshops: Host sessions on AFC and other options to guide decision-making.
  • Resource Library: Maintain up-to-date materials, including pamphlets and guides.
  • Peer Mentorship Program: Connect women with mentors who provide emotional support and practical advice.
  • Support Groups: Offer safe spaces for sharing stories and building connections.
  • Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns: Increase public and medical awareness about AFC.

For Caregivers:

  • Caregiver Support Workshops: Provide strategies for managing stress and preventing burnout.
  • Resource Guides: Offer materials on self-care and mental health for caregivers.
  • Support Networks: Create groups for caregivers to share experiences and seek advice.

Retreats for Patients and Caregivers:

  • Healing and Wellness Activities: Include yoga, meditation, and art therapy for overall well-being.
  • Educational Sessions: Feature workshops and expert talks on breast cancer care and self-care.
  • Peer Networking: Facilitate connections with others who understand their experiences.
  • Relaxation and Reflection: Provide a peaceful environment for rest and rejuvenation.

Mission

Our mission at Flaunt Flat Revolution is to help women with breast cancer make informed surgical decisions about their bodies leading to a greater sense of empowerment and self-acceptance

Needs

How You Can Help:

Your generous support on North Texas Giving Day 2024 will enable us to continue our vital work. With your donation, FFR can:

1. Equip patients with the information and resources they need before, during, and after surgery.

2. Offer mentorship and build a network of support that ensures no one feels alone in their journey.

3. Our #noflattieleftbehind philosophy means, we help subsidize retreat costs so that no "flattie" feels disconnected, isolated and alone on their journey. Far too many patients struggle financially to participate in retreats that are held outside of their home state. Your support will help build community, connection and a sense of belonging.

4. Normalize the flat option and empower women to make the best decision for themselves.

By contributing to FFR, you are not just supporting an organization; you are joining a movement that values informed choice, community, and empowerment.

Join us in making a difference. #JointheRevolution
