We are requesting funds to support player and team development with the intent of developing a youth program that provides a foundation for the middle and high school programs. Funding will go directly to both our fall (off-season) programming and spring season programming. Our fall off-season programming consists of clinics focused on i) introducing new players to the sport and converting them to join the program in the spring, and ii) keeping skills sharp and interest level high among returning/experienced players. These clinics are offered free of charge, to eliminate any barriers to participation. We provide high level coaching and all equipment for all participants. To further enhance the experience of the fall clinic participants, we have also retained special guest coaching appearances from Panther City Lacrosse (NLL) professionals. In the spring, programming is focused on preparing teams for competition within the DFW Youth Lacrosse League. This consists of bi-weekly practices and 10-12 games over a 4-month period. Currently, we field 3 teams (Kindergarten/2nd grade; 3rd/4th grade; 5th/6th grade) and hope to add 7th/8th grade and high school teams in the 2023 season. Aside from skill development, as an organization we are committed to the development of leadership skills, self-esteem, teamwork, goal setting, grit, determination, and perseverance among our players. We uphold the primary tenet of lacrosse as a sport of respect - for the game, teammates, and opponents. All funds will directly impact the development of lacrosse in the city of Fort Worth and thereby the development of physical, emotional, cognitive, and social health within our youth athletes.
