We work with the Permanency Court in Dallas County to help youth who are in foster care with normalcy activities, counseling, and well-being.
We help with children who don't qualify for help under other programs (it happens more often than you would think) and help cover other "normal" costs that occur that are not met by other groups: bus passes to see siblings or parents, graduation cap and gown, homecoming ticket, prom dress, etc.
Additionally, aged-out foster children who graduate from high school and are moving into a new phase in their lives need support to either find their way to college or in seeking employment and housing. FIFK invests in these children and their lives to support them in a smooth transition.
