The Friends of the Hurst Public Library are a 100% volunteer run organization. All proceeds from fundraisers stay in the City of Hurst and go directly to the Library to purchase materials and sponsor programs. Monetary donations ensure the Library remains a vibrant part of our community where all citizens and visitors are welcome.

Petting zoo at the 2024 Library Showcase: Storybook Ball

In addition to hosting one book sale a year, the Friends collaborate with the Teen Innovation Panel for the holiday "All Wrapped Up" fundraiser, provide holiday decor for the Reading Alcove & Historical Gallery, maintain the Friend's Cafe in the Library Lobby, and provide support at a variety of programs at the Library year-round.

The Friends of Hurst Public Library is a voluntary non-profit organization of those interested in helping to build and maintain public support for the Library. The Friend’s organized in the mid-1960’s and have played a vital role in the development and growth of the Library and its services over the years.
