The Friends of O.S. Gray Natural Area (FOOSGNA) is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization established in 2010. We partner with Arlington Parks Deptartment to promote, enhance, and help manage O.S. Gray Natural Area. Our projects include:
• Adding trails and benches throughout the park
• Restoring & protecting native Texas vegetation throughout the park to return the area to its natural state. We do this by saving plant species already present, seeding or transplanting new plants, and removing invasive plants.
• Creating pollinator gardens
• Hosting multiple community events including sidewalk chalk art contests, stargazing parties, Great Backyard Bird Count, and park tours
We are working to create an enjoyable place where the community can see examples of native Texas habitats.
We hold monthly community workdays on second Saturday mornings where everyone is welcome. We invite you to join us in stewarding this beautiful natural space in the heart of Arlington.
