Friends of the Mesquite Public Library is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers committed to improving our community by supporting our public library system.

Mission

The mission of Friends of the Mesquite Public Library is to generate funds to support the library and library programs; focus public attention on services, resources and needs of the Mesquite Public Library system; encourage gifts, endowments, and memorials for the library; and act as a liaison between the community, library staff, and Library Board .

Needs

Proceeds from North Texas Giving Day 2024 will be used to:

-support various library activities such as prizes for the summer reading club, a photographer for the annual Halloween program at the Main Library, the Petting Zoo program held each spring at the North Branch

-acquire art and decor for both libraries including rugs and furniture for the children's areas as well as outdoor artwork

-expand the puppet collection to be used by library staff

-purchase books, games, and other materials for special collections or programs

-provide special equipment for creating crafts and supporting genealogy research
