When the Richardson Public Library announced the plans to renovate the library to update the facility, we were all excited to see what the new library would be like. We knew this would be a long process since updates and remodeling are never a quick fix but a carefully considered process. The library building is almost at the halfway point with a projected finishing date in 2026. Take a look at the photos below. This is the basement area where the FOL Spring and Fall Book Sales will take place.

Fortunately, the City of Richardson and our fantastic library staff have created a warm and welcoming environment in a temporary location. Here, the vast majority of programs are still active and busy as usual. This is all possible with the help of donors like you. In the past, Friends of the Richardson Public Library (FOL) has been able to fund these programs with proceeds the two book sales. During the remodeling period, FOL had made a commitment to keep these programs funded and even added new and exciting programs that will be debuting soon.

And it is all because of you, our donors, that FOL is able to do all this.

Friends of the Richardson Public Library contribute to the literary life of our community in many ways:

1. Support the Richardson Public Library through educational programs for youth and adults.

2. Provide Little Free Library kits to neighborhoods throughout our city.

3. Create programs for those with an interest in literary arts.

4. Offer an annual scholarship, which is awarded to a high school senior who volunteers at the library.

5. Contribute to the annual Richardson Reads One Book program.

6. Fund programs that directly benefit the people of Richardson, such as Wi-Fi Hotspots and educational programs from infancy through adulthood.

Your support towards these programs on North Texas Giving Day is greatly appreciated!
