German Shepherd Rescue of Texas (GSRTX)

On North Texas Giving Day 2022, GSRTX hopes to raise $10,000 to help us continue our mission to save German Shepherds from TX shelters and bring awareness to the issues that arise with the dog overpopulation in TX. 100% of funds raised will go directly to:

1. Heartworm Treatment: Support our efforts to continue rescuing heartworm positive dogs from TX shelters. Around 50% of our intake each year is dedicated to dogs with this condition because they typically are seen as not as adoptable only because of the costly treatment involved for adopters. The treatment costs at least $500 and takes 60-90 days to complete. With your help these deserving dogs will be able to leave the shelter life behind and on to the right path getting treatment and eventually meeting their forever family! 

2. Urgent Medical Care: Help us rescue and rehabilitate dogs from the shelter that are in need of emergency medical care such as an amputation, blood transfusion, parvo treatment, etc. Shelters typically do not have the financial resources to treat the dogs with these needs and are often given a deadline before tough decisions have to be made if a rescue does not step up. With your donation this allows us to bring emergency medical dogs out of the shelter and into our care without having to raise funds beforehand. We are able to immediately start providing medical care so the dog can be on the road to recovery and into a forever home!

3. Foster Supplies: GSRTX is 100% foster home based and we are committed to assisting our foster families with anything they need while the dog is in their care. Your help in this area allows us to purchase the supplies they need from food, beds, toys, kennels, medical care when the needs arise. We are always in need of supplies so funds are always appreciated, we also have wishlists set up through Amazon and Chewy if you would like to send the items directly, or we can pick up in person if you are local.
