Grand Love is on a mission to raise awareness of Grandparents who are raising theiir grandchildren and doing so on a limited or fixed income. These grandparents have stepped up to keep their grandchildren out of the foster care system, often while living on social security. While they can provide housing and basic necessities, there is no money for unexpected expenses such as school activities, sports, summer camps, school clothing or supplies, and school clubs or groups. GRAND LOVE aims to make a difference in the lives of these grandchildren and their grandparents.
OUR NEED
There are currently over 300,000 grandparents raising their grandchildren in Texas, with 40% living below the poverty line. The need for support has increased significantly over the past two years, and there are few nonprofits or outside resources addressing this need. Now more than ever, your financial support is critical to enabling GRAND LOVE to assist these grandparents financially, mentally, and spiritually as they navigate parenting for a second time.
Our mission is to come along side of Grandparents raising grandchildren and assist with the unexpected expenses such as school activities, sports, summer camps, school clothing or supplies, and school clubs or groups. GRAND LOVE aims to make a difference in the lives of these grandchildren and their grandparents, by offering financial, emotional and spiritual support. Our programs are designed to better the lives of the grand-families we serve.
There are currently over 300,000 Grandprents raising Grandchildren in the State of Texas. Over 60,000 of these grandparents live below the poverty line and many of these are on fixed incomes and struggle financially to provide for their grandchildren. At Grand Love we have developed the following programs to assist these grandparents and give these children opportunities that they otherwise would not have. To fund these programs, we need your help.
Grand Scholarships - Grand Love provides a 2 year scholarship program to local Community Colleges for grandchildren who want to pursue education after high school.
Grand Education Support - This program provides backpacks, school supplies, funds for field trips, extracurricular activities, sports and sports equipment and fine arts participation and other school related activities that are not funded by the ISDs and grandparents are not able to provide on a limited income.
Grand Summers - Help us send Grandchildren to life-changing Summer Camps! At these camps, children are introduced to a fun-filled week, they also connect with kids from all over Texas and experience a powerful encounter with God.
Grand Holidays - Christmas Financial Support for Grandparents living on a fixed income through our "Tree of Love" for Grandfamilies.
