The Heritage Farmstead Museum ( HFM )stands as a vital history education resource and historic farm site, offering a range of engaging programs such as school field trips, tours, and exhibits that delve into the essence of rural life on the Blackland Prairie. With a commitment to protecting, preserving, and restoring a 4-acre farm site, a historic house, and 15 original structures dating back to 1891, the museum serves as a cherished community hub for large gatherings and special events in North Texas. In 2023 alone, HFM welcomed over 35,000 visitors, with 30% being school-age children and 75% families, solidifying its role in connecting people of all ages to the rich heritage of rural life experiences.

Our Needs

The funds raised will be allocated towards supporting the general operating costs of our education programs, public tours, livestock, and exhibits. Additionally, the capital campaign will aid in the expansion of our administrative office space and museum collection area. Your contribution will directly enhance our ability to provide enriching experiences for our visitors and further our mission of education and preservation.
