What is a Halo Babes Inc.?
Halo Babes Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created for children and families that are in permanent managing conservatorship or foster care. While working with Child Protective Services, I struggled with the lack of resources available to help families that have children placed with them in a permanent managing conservatorship placement. I identified challenges with children of color and the families who cared for them having the necessary tools and support system within the community to maintain the child's hair. Being a woman of color, I know the importance of maintaining your hair. I believe that our identity, in many ways, is connected to our hair. This is why Halo Babes Inc. was created, to provide a community where children in foster care are pampered, nurtured, and supported.
Mission
To provide resources and assistance to children who are currently in permanent managing conservatorship and foster care, and other individuals in need.
Needs
Braiders/Barbers/Natural hair stylists: Donation of services.
