Founded in 2019, Heart of the City's guiding principle is to be Compassion Lived Out. Our programs are designed to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of those in our community.

OUR MISSION: To LOVE OTHERS, to SERVE OTHERS, and to HELP OTHERS.

OUR VISION: We see the potential of Heart of the City to be a model for loving, helping and serving local communities. Our efforts are led by local people, using local resources. This model has been designed so that it can be duplicated in every town all across the nation. When this happens, we will find that each unique Heart of the City entity has the potential to truly be the HEART of each city and it will be a example of what it looks like to LOVE GOD and LOVE OTHERS.

OUR PURPOSE: For the Greater Lewisville/South Denton County region, we see the current purpose of Heart of the City Lewisville is to provide assistance with FOOD, CLOTHING, and LIFE and SKILLS COACHING. However as needs change, so will the programs of Heart of the City. We realize in a rapidly changing world, we have to be able to change as well. Honestly, we are simply trying to be the hands and feet of Jesus, doing what He would do if He were on earth today.

With over 1800 registered volunteers, and operating with over 215 committed volunteers each week, Heart of the City made an economic impact of $4.4 million. In 2023 Heart of the City served over 700 families each week, and registered 4,106 NEW Families. Farmers Market Food Pantry provided 1.6 million pounds of food, which equates to 1.4 millions meals . Grahams Totally FREE Clothing gave away 69,897 pieces of clothing, 1,303 pairs of shoes, and 411 Winter Coats. Thrive Academy provided 956 class hours in its first year of operation.

Mission

We do three things very well:

1.Provide FREE FOOD for families until they can provide for themselves.

2. Provide FREE CLOTHING for families until they are able to provide for themselves or in emergency situations.

3. Provide FREE LIFE & SKILLS COACHING that will help move those we serve from just surviving to THRIVING.

Our goal to LOVE, SERVE, and HELP Others, calls for a long term relationship with those we serve. We want to help them THRIVE to a point where they can begin helping others in the community.
