The Jesus Moroles Expressive Arts Vanguard PTO is comprised of parents, school staff and community members who desire to support our school and it’s students. Our goal is to raise funds, which will be used to improve the educational and arts programming at our school.
The Jesús Moroles Expressive Arts Vanguard PTO is a 501c3 non profit organization whose purpose is to build and encourage community by partnering with the teachers, students and their families at Jesús Moroles Expressive Arts Vanguard - a DISD public school in West Dallas. We will support and promote the educational and physical welfare of the students and staff, enabling them to succeed academically and to gain an understanding and appreciation for the arts.
At Jesús Moroles Expressive Arts Vanguard, education is more than just textbooks and tests; it’s about nurturing creativity, embracing diversity, and fostering a community where every child can thrive. Our school, a proud magnet and neighborhood institution, stands as a beacon of high-level learning and artistic expression in Dallas ISD. Yet, despite our unwavering commitment to our students, we face significant challenges due to limited funding.
Our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is the heart of our school’s support system. They ensure that our classrooms are equipped with the essentials for teaching and learning, and they go above and beyond to provide for our students, especially in times of need. During the holidays or in moments of crisis, the PTO steps in, offering support to families, uplifting spirits, and fostering a sense of community that is vital for our diverse school.
But there’s more to do. Our playground, a place where our young children should be free to laugh, play, and grow, is in the very hot Texas days, unusable due to the lack of shade. The Texas sun makes the equipment too hot to touch, depriving our students of a basic childhood necessity—safe outdoor play. The PTO is working tirelessly to raise the funds needed for playground coverings, but they can’t do it alone.
