The Justice Reform Foundation is dedicated to helping those in our community and beyond receive effective assistance of counsel. We are working hard to effect change of the US Criminal Justice System. Our President, Justin Magnuson founded the Justice Reform Foundation after he was wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit. After spending almost 2 years of his life incarcerated awaiting trial, he learned first hand the harms of the current state of our justice system. He witnessed people sitting in jail for years awaiting trial, seeing their lawyers once or twice in a year. Now a free man, he created the Justice Reform Foundation to help those suffering from our criminal justice system. This fall, in partnership with Texas A&M University School of Law, we launched our Criminal Defense Clinic serving Tarrant County - the largest county in the country without a public defender’s office. The Clinic will be an invaluable asset to the legal community by providing effective assistance of counsel to clients who otherwise would not be able to afford private counsel. This is where we need your help to meet our goal of $25,000 – to give as many people who cannot afford counsel the chance at a fair defense to fight and advocate for themselves.

Mission

The Justice Reform Foundation is dedicated to transforming the broken Unites States criminal justice system by advocating for innovative reforms and providing crucial support to those affected by its flaws. Our mission is to promote a fair and just legal process by offering accessible and comprehensive criminal law clinics, advocating for meaningful bail reform, and facilitating the expungement of criminal records. We stand committed to empowering individuals with knowledge, resources, and opportunities, fostering lasting change within the criminal justice system and the comminuties it serves. Together, we work tirelessly towards a society where second chances are valued, justice is truly rehabilitative, and every person can rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
