The Legacy Senior Communities (LSC) exists to provide a continuum of care to seniors and their families with compassion and dignity, while embracing Jewish values and upholding the highest standards of excellence. LSC opened as the Dallas Home for Jewish Aged in Dallas in 1953 to serve a growing need for the aging Jewish population. LSC is a nationally recognized leader in the field of aging for seniors and is the parent organization for The Legacy Willow Bend (Life Care Retirement Community offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing), The Legacy at Home (home health care, personal care, and hospice services), and The Legacy Midtown Park (rental continuing care retirement community offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing). The Legacy Senior Communities Foundation provides charitable care for qualifying seniors. This care includes rental assistance in independent living, assisted living, and memory support, 21 Medicaid beds between our two Healthcare Centers, and personal assistance services for seniors residing in their own homes.
Every year, The Legacy Senior Communities Foundation, with support from The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, provides more than $1 million in charitable care to Jewish seniors in the Dallas area. This care includes rental assistance in independent living, assisted living, and memory support, in addition to offering 21 Medicaid beds between Legacy Willow Bend and Legacy Midtown Park Healthcare Centers. The Legacy Senior Communities Foundation also provides subsidized Legacy at Home Personal Assistance Services care hours to seniors needing additional assistance while aging in place in their home. The goal is to minimize seniors’ risk of injury and/or hospitalization from performing daily, necessary tasks.
The Legacy Senior Communities Foundation is dedicated to being the safety net for Jewish seniors in Dallas. If a senior needs housing and/or medical care, but does not have the means or family to assist them, The Legacy is prepared to step in and provide access. Financial assistance residents and Medicaid residents receive the same diligent care and strategic services available to all Legacy residents - meal plans, medical care (if applicable), social activities, personal exercise/therapy sessions, weekly Shabbat services, holiday services, Kosher dining (if observed), Torah studies, transportation to medical appointments, and more. Legacy at Home financial assistance clients receive assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, pet care, transportation to medical appointments, companionships, and more. This culture and service distinguish The Legacy experience from all other senior living service providers in Dallas.
The Legacy Senior Communities exists to provide a continuum of care to seniors and their families with compassion and dignity, while embracing Jewish values and upholding the highest standards of excellence.
