About Us

IrvingHomeless.com, operated by LifeChange Housing Associates, Inc. (LCHA), was founded in 2017 with a mission to tackle homelessness in Irving through a relationship-centered housing approach. We are committed to helping the most vulnerable in our community by providing housing and support services to individuals in need, one person at a time. We believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home, regardless of their background or circumstances, and are dedicated to making this a reality for our community members.

What We Do

At IrvingHomeless.com (LCHA), we recognize that homelessness is a multifaceted issue requiring a comprehensive approach and sustained support. Our primary goal is to provide stable housing, but we also connect individuals to a variety of essential services to address their immediate and long-term needs. Our services include:

  • Basic Needs: Providing essentials like food, clothing, and hygiene products.
  • Inclement Weather Shelter: Facilitating Irving's only inclement weather shelter, offering food, rest, overnight shelter, and resources whenever temperatures fall below 33 degrees.
  • Identification Assistance: Assisting with the replacement of crucial documents, such as driver’s licenses, social security cards, and birth certificates.
  • Income Assistance: Providing support in finding and maintaining employment, including handing out bus passes for new jobs.
  • Healthcare: Connecting individuals to medical, mental health, and addiction services.
  • Housing Assistance: Facilitating the transition from homelessness to sustainable housing, which includes temporary hotel stays and down payments for new apartments.

Our Housing Resource Program is designed to help individuals transition from the streets into stable housing. It currently costs $2,200 per person to help someone experiencing homelessness move into sustainable housing. This cost covers everything from replacing lost or stolen identification to down payments for new apartments. Your gift can make the difference between a family living on the streets or in their own apartment. You can truly make a difference.

Impact

IrvingHomeless.com has made a significant impact on the Irving community by providing vital services and support to those in need. This year alone, we have successfully moved 29 individuals off the streets and into stable housing, providing them with the tools and support needed to rebuild their lives. Since January 2023, we have helped over 125 people transition from homelessness to stable housing through our Housing Resource Program. Additionally, since 2021, we have provided shelter, food, and safety to over 400 men, women, and families through our Inclement Weather Shelter, ensuring they have a warm place to stay during the coldest nights.

Through our comprehensive approach, we’ve connected hundreds of individuals to other nonprofit resources and services, ensuring that each person receives the personalized support they need. Whether it's reuniting families, helping someone find a job, or providing a safe haven during harsh weather, our work is centered around creating a supportive community for all.

Your dollars make a direct impact. With your support, we can continue to provide these crucial services and help even more individuals and families find stability and safety. Join us in being a partner in this important work. Together, we can change lives and help more people find their way off the streets and into a secure, stable home.

$50: Helps newly housed individuals with groceries as they settle into their new home, ensuring they have the essentials they need.

$200: Covers the cost of obtaining a driver's license and other essential identification, which can be the difference between a job and a good job.

$500: Funds meals for 85 individuals at our Inclement Weather Shelter, providing warmth and nourishment during harsh winter conditions.

$1,100: Provides a month-long stay in a hotel for someone in need, offering them immediate shelter while they work with us to find permanent housing.

$2,200: Covers the full cost of helping an individual transition from homelessness to sustainable housing. This includes replacing lost or stolen identification, providing bus passes for job opportunities, and covering down payments for new apartments.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us provide critical support to those who need it most. Your generosity directly impacts the lives of individuals and families in our community, helping them move toward a brighter, more stable future.
