Young Life doesn't start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. We share the truth of the gospel with our teenage friends and love them regardless of their response.
We currently serve middle school students, high school students, students with special needs and disabilities, and teenage moms and their babies.
Young Life has worked hard to chase after students in McKinney, Texas non-stop for the past eight years, originating in 2005. With more than 7,500 students enrolled in public high schools and over 5,400 students enrolled in public middle schools, we expect to reach over 1,000 kids by name by the end of this school year. Though we celebrate the number of students we care for, there are still so many more to share the great news of Jesus with. With a wide variety of things fighting for student’s attention, we believe it’s more important than ever that Jesus becomes what captivates their mind and heart.

Mission
Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. We do this by going out into the world of kids, earning the right to be heard, developing relationships where kids are at in their lives and helping middle and high school teens, teen moms, and special needs teens and young adults reach their potential and purpose.
1. Go where students are, model the gospel & celebrate, take interest, and support them.
2. Create spaces for students to belong and hear about the God who created them and the
gospel that could change their life forever.
3. Explain the gospel in terms students can understand.
4. We want as many students as possible in McKinney, TX to have access to a YL leader.
Needs
We are trying to raise $25,000 by September 30th so we can end this fiscal year in the black. Anything we raise above this amount will go directly to hiring another full-time staff. We have seen exponential growth over this last year. We expect to know over 1,000 kids by name by the end of this school year, we took 140 kids and leaders to camp this past summer, and have seen near 250 kids at events. We have also doubled the amount of kids attending a weekly bible study with a Young Life leader. Due to the growth in ministry, we are needing to hire more staff so we can keep programs running and reach the next kid in our city! Our budget next year, which begins October 1st, is $349,700.
Young Life can often serve as the places and safe spaces that make up a students most cherished memories. Our goal is to continue to make McKinney Young Life a fixture in this community and in the lives of teenagers.
We are honored to be a part of the North Texas Giving Day! Our organization has the honor to reach kids in McKinney, Texas with the love of Christ through trained leaders and staff. Our hope is to reach every kid in McKinney ISD with the Gospel!
