Muscular Dystrophy Association

MDA currently provides direct services to over 5,500 children and adults living with neuromuscular diseases in the DFW area alone. We know that early diagnosis, highly specialized care and access to promising clinical trials help ensure the best possible outcomes for individuals and families facing neuromuscular disease. That's why MDA is here to provide care for kids and adults from day one. Our MDA Care Centers offer families best-in-class, comprehensive care from a wide variety of health care specialists at one location on the same day, while our trained information specialists and educational resources are available to offer guidance and support through every step of the journey. Each day the freedoms of movement and independence are taken away from children and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases that weaken muscle strength and limit mobility. Together we can change that. We offer a myriad of services for both children and adults in our community suffering from neuromuscular disease from our Care Clinics and support groups to the "best week of the year", our fully accessible children's camp offered at no cost to our families. Not only does MDA provide direct services to our families through our Care Centers and Camp but also offers tools and resources through our national resource center, Quest Magazine, the MDA website (mda.org), and our annual conference series for researchers and health care providers. MDA is the only organization of its kind committed to funding research and providing services for individuals affected by all the various diseases under MDA's neuromuscular disease umbrella.
