MillHouse Foundation hosts multiple festivals and markets at the historic McKinney Cotton Mill, including a Winter and Summer Indoor ArtFest each February and August, an Outdoor MuralFest each June, and Indoor Artisan Makers Markets throughout the year. Artists and vendors from across Texas and surrounding states showcase unique, handcrafted products for sale, which helps boost economic opportunities for small business owners in creative fields.
Our mission is to enhance economic opportunities for micro and small business owners in creative fields. Our model is artists supporting artists, with MillHouse artists taking leadership in envisioning, planning, and executing community-oriented events to showcase artistic capabilities. ArtFest showcases talents of fine artists, Makers Markets focuses on artisan and hand-crafted products, and MuralFest features mural artists and their designs.
Each of these community-based creative events provides increase visibility and sales for participating artists and creatives, attracts new customers, enhances collaboration and learning among participating creatives.
Your donation will directly support MillHouse artists who lead community events on behalf of their fellow creatives. Our community event model relies on artists supporting artists. The time MillHouse artists expend directing our events requires them to put aside their individual business interests to support economic development opportunities for others. We endeavor to provide stipends to help replace lost income in support of the Foundation goals.
MillHouse Foundation is our 501(c)(3) charitable and educational corporation created to promote small business women in creative fields. Our mission is for women to flourish by providing opportunities to showcase their work and enhance income opportunities. Our focus is helping creative micro-businesswomen; however, all are welcome to participate in our art festivals, artisan markets, art exhibits, and public art.
Your donation will directly support MillHouse artists who lead community events on behalf of their fellow creatives. Our community event model relies on artists supporting artists. The time MillHouse artists expend directing our events requires them to put aside their individual business interests to support the economic development opportunities for the artists and creatives who participate in our events. We endeavor to provide stipends to help replace lost income in support of the Foundation goals with a goal of providing living wages.
MillHouse Foundation is designed to promote creative micro-businesswomen, who lead, direct, and implement MillHouse events, including art festivals, artisan markets, art exhibits, and public art. These activities and events are open to all artists and creatives.
