The Collin County Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas helps build connections between residents of Collin and surrounding counties and our local native plants. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, we aim to help residents improve our environment by utilizing local native plants. To this end, our chapter:
- Holds monthly discussions featuring speakers on local native plants and habitats
- Develops native plant demonstration gardens
- Supports preservation of native prairies
- Takes field trips to native plant sites
- Promotes the utilization of native plants at local events
The mission of the Native Plant Society of Texas is to promote conservation, research and utilization of native plants and plant habitats of Texas through education, outreach, and example.
Your generous donations to the Collin County Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT) will enhance our efforts to increase awareness and knowledge of native North Texas plants. Your contributions will be used to:
• Participate in events around Collin County and North Texas to advocate for native plants. We work with schools, charitable organizations, youth groups, and other non-profits to help the community learn more about the benefits of native plants.
• Support the NPSOT Native Landscape Certification Program to educate and certify individuals in native plant landscaping.
• Help fund the "Bring Back the Monarchs to Texas" grant program to protect and grow monarch habitats.
• Organize impactful speaker events to spread awareness and knowledge.
• Provide free native plant garden design assistance for approved projects from non-profits, churches, government entities, and public parks in Collin County and adjacent counties.
• Develop future programs aimed at environmental education and conservation.
• Cover essential administrative expenses to ensure smooth operation and effective program delivery.
Your support is crucial in helping us achieve these goals and continue our mission of promoting conservation and education about our native North Texas plants.
As a community-based environmental conservation organization, the Collin County Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas honors and celebrates the remarkable diversity of our communities and our unique ecoregions.
