Dear supporters,
We want to take a moment to express our sincerest gratitude, for your continued support of the Community Table of North Texas. Your generous contributions have made it possible for us to provide fresh, nutritious food to 900 families each month, supporting over 4,000 individuals in our community!
Last year, thankfully we were able to provide for an average of 450 families per month. In 2023, we’ve struggled to keep up with the demand, as it has doubled - in just 1 year! So now more than ever, we truly need your help, so that we may continue helping to alleviate the struggles of families in need - by providing farmers market style fresh food, with dignity, to help improve their overall well-being.
We understand the importance of ensuring that families have access to fresh and nutritious food, and your contributions play a vital role in making this possible. Without your continued support, we would not be able to purchase the food necessary - or even keep our doors open, to meet the needs of our community.
We recently received a touching thank-you note from one of our guests, which serves as a reminder of the impact your support has on the lives of those we serve. They expressed their appreciation for everything we have done and mentioned how the Community Table has helped them provide for their families, and specifically provided comfort for their children, which has helped them tremendously. Your generosity does make a difference, and we are grateful for your ongoing commitment to our cause.
As we enter this holiday season, we ask that you dig deep, and consider making a donation to financially support our efforts. With your help, we can continue to provide for families in need and make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Once again, we want to express our sincerest gratitude for your support. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a lasting impact on families in our community. Together, we can work to ensure that no family goes hungry, and their kids don't go back to school without food - we can help to build a brighter future for all!
Thank you for your generosity, and may you have a blessed holiday season.
"Fighting Hunger in North Texas While Preserving the Dignity of Those We Serve."
As an organization, we live our mission out through our values:
Relational: We strive to build strong community partnerships. We want to be build a safe, trusted space for our guests that allow them to feel comfortable seeking our assistance in many areas. We also want to connect with other organizations that share our values and complement our work.
Equity: We believe that many services are not built with the input of those receiving them. We aim to create stakeholder involvement that examines not only immediate needs but also systemic concerns.
Transition: Knowing that our community has multifaceted needs, we believe a one-dimensional model cannot adequately meet their concerns. We design models and expand services that will allow our guests to move from their current situation to better living conditions.
Excellence: In all that we do, we want to provide excellence in our process. This means designing models that are efficient, quality, and respectful and go beyond current standards of practice.
Guest Experience:
PROCESS: Families complete a one-time application. Community Table is a grocery store-style operation that strives to have fresh produce, meats, and dairy, as well as staples to meet a variety of food needs. Once per week, without any charge, our guests are able to shop and select items that best fit their needs, providing dignity and respect in the process. In this way, we assist families in meeting critical hunger needs that stem from circumstances, such as food-stamp shortages, insufficient funds, and unexpected life events.
FUTURE: Because struggles for low-income communities are often multifaceted, Community Table aims to provide new services by creating partnerships that help transition our guests to more stable living conditions. Example services include job assistance, counseling, spiritual services, clothing distribution, health, and human services navigation, and our existing food pantry.
