The Oak Lawn Library Friends, Dallas would like your support of our organization, our wonderful library and all the different programs we have offered this year.   Without your financial support many of these programs would not have reached fruition.  If you have attended some of our classes and programs, we hope you enjoyed them, and we encourage you to look for future offerings - many exciting items on our schedule!

If you are a supporter from afar, we urge you to visit our location and browse the books you have helped us purchase, maybe pick up a copy of the Book Page magazine - a great resource for all book clubs!  You can keep up to date with all our happenings through our website www.oaklawnlibraryfriends.com - here you will find links to our events and general library events such as our Novel Discussion Book Club.  You will also find our database of author pages  - we have more than 4623 author pages - a wealth of information!   We also fund a subscription to BookPage for 50 copies a month.  Below is the June 2024 issue.

Since September 2023, we have funded the purchase our 2nd sewing machine (see photo below), $3,000 for books for the bilingual story time program, refreshing the non-fiction section of the LGBTQ collection (the largest in the Southwest) and general history books.    $1,000 in support of the Smart Summer program to encourage reading, craft supplies to support various programs and an annual subscription to BookPage. (see photo collage below of various programs at our library this spring.

Our sewing classes fill  quickly every time we offer them - Our Friends group have now purchased two sewing machines and an OLLF member donated a third.  We are a library of so much more than books.

None of the above is possible without your financial support.  So yes, we are reaching out to you again to secure your ongoing support.  As you may know, North Texas Giving Day is fast approaching, Sept. 19, 2024.  Here is a link to our page on North Texas Giving Day:

We ask that you consider our group when you are making your donations.  We are a non-profit where a little goes a long way!  Along with our program funding we are also hoping to increase our children and teens libraries next year.  We would love more programs aimed at adults.  If your company offers a matching policy, please remember us for that also!  Double the fun!

Libraries are more important now than ever - they are a central part of our community and offer resources unavailable anywhere else - please remember the Oaklawn Library Friends during North Texas Day of Giving.
