: Operation Book Bag is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering youth through education, mentorship, and personal development. The program aims to address the holistic well-being of participants, focusing on four pillars: mental and physical wellness, life skills, self-esteem, and cultural awareness. To provide ongoing programming to promote excellence of character, education, leadership development, and meaningful mentoring relationships for disfranchised marginalized young people ages seven through seventeen.

OBB aims to encourage and teach ideals relevant to promoting positive self-image and identity, as well as being able to reinforce the concept of community. As the adage states, “It takes a village to raise a child.”

Programs Overview: Operation Book Bag is committed to empowering youth through education, mentorship, and personal development. The program aims to address the holistic well-being of participants, focusing on four pillars: mental and physical wellness, life skills, self-esteem, and cultural awareness. The following curriculum outline provides a framework for an eight-month program that integrates these pillars into a comprehensive learning experience. Within these pillars, we will utilize the Afro-centric principles of KWANZA The NGUZA SBA in Swahili it means the seven principles. Developed by Dr. Maulana Karenga. The NGUZA SABA stands at the origin and the meaning of KWANZA. KWANZA was created to reinforce these seven basic values of African Culture which contribute to building and reinforcing family, community, and culture which contribute to building and reinforce family community and culture among African American People as well as people throughout the world.

o Total for 30 children: 30 x $8 = $240

• Adults' Meals:

o Cost per meal: $12

o Total for 10 adults: 10 x $12 = $120

• Volunteers' Meals:

o Cost per meal: $10

o Total for 5 volunteers: 5 x $10 = $50

• Total Lunch Costs: $240 (children) + $120 (adults) + $50 (volunteers) = $410
