Through a crazy 5600 mile trip from Fairbanks, Alaska to Washington, DC, Mike King, a paraplegic came home with a growing love for adapted sports and a growing faith. "God used sports to fill parts of my life that were left empty after my accident."
After years of competing on an elite level in wheelchair sports, Mike is on a new adventure with his wife Sharyn. It’s called Powered to Move (P2M). To learn more about our awesome programs visit – www.poweredtomove.org.
Through P2M people with physical and intellectual disabilities are finding ways to live full, healthy and purposeful lives. Our programs are filled with community, connection and fun ways to stay active.
Powered to Move - Community Fund Campaign!. In May 2024, Powered to Move moved into our new home. Our P2M Community Center is home to our adapted gym equipment, group classes for our friends with special needs, some of our summer camp activities, resource classes, social events, crafts for kids with disabilities, education for wheelchair users on handcycling, wheelchair maintenance, and more. This new space allows us to serve more folks with disabilities and their families. This is a place "where HOPE thrives"!

We have moved into our new home....The Powered to Move Community Center. We have started hosting fun classes and events at the center and have a need for a few more pieces of adapted fitness equipment, some specialty games for the center and expanded programming. We want to raise $15,000 through North Texas Giving Day. Every dollar will be matching, which will allow us to raise a total of $30,000 for our Community Fund to meet these needs.
