Since 1972, Preservation Dallas has been dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of historic buildings, neighborhoods, and communities across North Texas. We do so by championing initiatives that value the history and culture of places throughout Dallas, connecting communities to their roots and enhancing both the quality of life and economic development of our great city.

Against considerable odds, Preservation Dallas has fought to change the philosophy that old buildings need to be torn down and replaced with new developments. We have pushed for Dallas to adapt a culture of retention and adaptive reuse that celebrates the city’s unique architectural and cultural heritage. As a city-wide organization, we promote reinvestment in urban environment, celebrate cultural diversity, save endangered properties, and educate citizens on Dallas’s rich architectural fabric. We also seek to enhance our role in sustainability, linking our advocacy to environmental stewardship through research studies, civic engagement, and support of effective sustainability policies in endangered neighborhoods.

Through your support with a North Texas Giving Day gift, Preservation Dallas can continue our advocacy for integral structures, community reinvestment, and cultural preservation across Dallas. With your help, we will retain the rich cultural history of our city and make Dallas a more livable community.
