Second Chance Dog Rescue is a 501c3, non-profit organization dedicated to saving as many homeless, neglected and abused animals as our resources allow. Each dog that comes into our program is vaccinated, heartworm tested and treated if positive, placed on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention, altered and microchipped. All dogs are given the best of care. All dogs are individually walked multiple times a day, they are given quality food, treats and are provided a safe & loving environment.
One of our main goals is to work within our community and educate pet owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their animals in order to assist with the reduction of unwanted animals. We focus on programs that educate both our community and potential adopters on the fact that animals are a lifelong commitment and to help them realistically prepare for that commitment which includes educating them with training as well as wellness care & low-cost vetting available in our community. We understand that this is truly a community effort.
Our mission at Second Chance Dog Rescue is to rescue, protect, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs from county areas where neglect, abuse, and desperation are rampant. We are committed to giving these vulnerable dogs a Second Chance at life, providing them with the care, love, and safety they deserve, while working to raise awareness about the plight of animals in these underserved regions.
We are always in need of fosters, especially ones willing to take medium-large breed dogs. In addition to fosters, we are looking to recruit volunteers with experience listed below:
Core Volunteers:
excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, run a group of volunteers of at least 6, as well as an understanding of animal behavior and care, keeping safety a high priority
1. A consistent income stream to fund spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations & heartworm treatment
2. Storage space for food donations and supplies.
3. Corporate Sponsors and Event Sponsors
4. Grant Writers
We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion to build a stronger, more inclusive animal protection movement where all people can have a sense of belonging. We've achieved a powerful legacy of change for animals and we'll never stop fighting for them.
We treat others-both 2 legged and 4 as we would like to be treated, with love, compassion and understanding.
