SNAP & CLAP (Special Needs Community Learning Adult Program) is a community program for adults with special needs. SNAP & CLAP is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization who is devoted to making a difference for special needs adults and anchoring them into the community. Our program and Anchors are in the community 75% of the time going to movies, museums, events, taking CrossFit and Yoga class, eating at local restaurants, helping out seniors, and volunteering. Last year we drove over 5,100 miles around North Texas and visited 85 different locations.
Who are Anchors: Adults with special needs are Anchors in life. They are faithful, steadfast, loyal, and they give us hope and love. They hold us in place, they are securely firm to us, and they Anchor us to the Joys of life. SNAP & CLAP provides vocational skills, independent living, and community experience for these Anchors so they can Anchor themselves within the community.
Our mission is to provide adults with special needs an opportunity to make a difference in their lives and anchor themselves in the community by building relationships, establishing partnerships, and volunteering.
SNAP & CLAP does not receive any government funding. The State of Texas is one of the lowest, 49th, in serving and supporting individuals with special needs. As this is a barrier for adults with special needs, our program is breaking down those barriers. Our vision is an inclusive community where individuals with special needs can recognize their full potential and contribute to the community in personally meaningful ways.
Your support helps breaks down those funding barriers, helps anchor these adults in the community, and support these adults make a difference in their lives and those in our community!
SNAP & CLAP does not discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, age, or gender. We are committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all involved feel respected and valued.
