$10,000 Goal

Texas Flatties aims to reshape the narrative around post-mastectomy choices for breast cancer survivors. Texas Flatties provides social awareness about going FLAT after surgery through body positivity campaigns, support workshops, in-person meetups, and provides a community for those who've chosen to live FLAT after mastectomy.

Leslie (Les) Howard was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. During this time, Les discovered a little-known but empowering option known as aesthetic FLAT closure - a choice for a flat chest after mastectomy.

Les was able to find social groups online that supported her decision to go flat, but the meetup events were not local. Texas Flatties was created in 2021 from a need to meet face-to-face with other flatties nearby in the state of Texas.

Les and Texas Flatties are committed to survivors having informed choice when facing breast cancer.

Mission
