We bring the museum directly to students!

"When a student believes in themselves, they can do anything"

Thinkatorium is lowering barriers to spark passion for kiddos.

  1. No busses - we bring the field trip right to the school
  2. No chaperones - we bring our trained volunteers to Title I schools
  3. Learning though play - no boring museum exhibits from last century, but interactive experiences that help problem solving and boost student confidence. And we still check off teaching requirements (TEKS alignment).
  4. Safe space to fail - It's not about being right, it's about finding a solution.
  5. Inclusive - We have different challenges based on the age and stage of the kiddos. We allow easy wins to grow into amazing accomplishments. This means we can reach different audiences, such as students with special needs, gifted students, and everyone in-between.
  6. Bilingual - all printed materials are available in both English and Spanish.

We know that not every student will chase a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) degree, but every student has the right to explore and believe in themselves.

    · We found that while 100% of second+ generation STEM college students had an interactive experience that sparked their choice in higher education

    · Only half of first generation STEM college students had a similar interactive experience

    · 23 elementary schools in AISD don't have a PTA (parent teacher association) leaving these schools very short on volunteers

Help us spark the next generation of problem solvers!

Giving Activity

Mission

The Thinkatorium is an interactive science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) mobile museum that engages children 18 months to 12 years old and their caregivers to explore, question, and care for the world around them.

Needs

We have big dreams! We need physical resources for our traveling museum, transportation upgrade, exhibit development, and a try-it space!

We also need to get the word out - Like us on Facebook or Instagram!

Become a Thinkateer! We need more event volunteers and material prep volunteers!

Equity Statement

At the Thinkatorium, we are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that celebrates and promotes equitable access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education. We believe that every individual, regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances, should have the opportunity to engage, explore, and excel in STEAM disciplines.

Together, we aspire to create a future where the boundaries of knowledge are limitless and opportunities are accessible to all.
