$75,000 Goal

TEL International (a missionary society) began in 2008 with a desire to aid indigenous or native missionaries so that they might reach their peoples and establish biblical churches among them. The goal of our ministry is to facilitate the advancement of indigenous missionaries throughout the world. Our strategy consists of four primary components: financial support, theological training, Scripture and literature distribution, and the supply of any tool necessary to facilitate the completion of the Great Commission. However, there are certain aspects of our missionary work that extend beyond the support of missionaries including the following initiatives where donors can designate financial support:

ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PROGRAM:  We support the development and daily operations of several primary schools in the most impoverished regions of Ghana, Haiti, Kenya, and Sierra Leone. We equip classrooms, offer tuition support, provide school supplies, books, transportation, computer training, nutritious school meals, and the occasional infrastructure improvements that these schools so desperately need. These efforts reduce illiteracy rates and the likelihood of students dropping out. We believe that education is a proven path to alleviating poverty and driving lasting change. Quality education is a fundamental human right, and by providing it, we empower beneficiaries to become leaders.

FEEDING AND NUTRITION PROGRAM: Through this initiative we focus on feeding children in the community schools we work with where most of the children rely on the school’s provision as their only source of food for the day. Schools that benefit from this program are located in the most impoverished regions of Ghana, Haiti, Kenya, and Sierra Leone. Our goal is to keep our children healthy. It is also necessary to keep children fed so they are able to concentrate while at school and gain a better education.

CLEAN WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE PROJECTS: The daily chore of fetching water is no small task in Sub-Saharan Africa. Women and children often walk as far as 4 miles to collect what water they can from a polluted, dirty, water source, full of parasites and bacteria. No single intervention has a greater overall impact upon public health than does the provision of safe drinking water. We finance, support, and participate in the construction of clean water projects to provide children and families in poverty with access to clean water through interventions like drilled wells; rainwater catchment systems; piping systems to irrigate crops and improve access to clean water; purification equipment to treat water contaminated by bacteria and other waterborne disease-carriers; and latrines to protect clean water source

MEDICAL MISSIONS OUTREACH: In developing nations, people die every day from fevers, infections and vitamin deficiencies that go untreated because basic medicines or nutritional supplements are not available. For those not able to get medical treatment, illnesses and wounds that are easily managed with proper resources, often escalate into life-threatening tragedies. Through this program we provide essential medicines, disposable syringes, and surgical supplies to help prevent and mitigate disease, disaster and other health threats to medically underserved populations who face economic, cultural or linguistic barriers to healthcare.

SELF-HELP INITIATIVE: We invest in farmers and business owners around the world, because we know that having a secure source of income can be truly transformational for families and their communities. Smallholder farmers in developing countries comprise half of the world’s undernourished people and a majority of the people are living in absolute poverty. This program provides farmers and business owners the resources they need – training, access to basic financial services and inputs to improve their crop yields.

Giving Activity

Mission

A holistic ministry that compassionately meets the needs of hurting people and establishes biblical churches throughout the world by means of equipping and mobilizing indigenous churches and missionaries to invite, welcome, encourage and inspire persons to join in and experience the gospel of Jesus Christ and the new life He offers.

Needs

We are requesting donations to support the development and daily operations of several primary schools in the most impoverished regions of Ghana, Haiti, Kenya and Sierra Leone. The average classroom in these countries lack the basic and essential tools that make for a meaningful educational experience for kids. Access to these resources may not seem difficult to acquire in the US, but the same cannot be said for millions of other children around the world. With your help we can respond to this urgent need and facilitate the donation of textbooks, school supplies, desks, chairs, chalkboards, school uniforms, and infrastructure improvements that these schools so desperately need.

Equity Statement

TEL International does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, age, religion, national and ethnic origin, sexual orientation or disability in the hiring of faculty and staff. The Great Commission compels us to make evangelism our primary focus. We initiate, coordinate, facilitate and oversee missions and outreach programs that invite, welcome, encourage and inspire persons to join in and experience the gospel of Jesus Christ and the new life He offers. Everything we do filters through the desire for and the purpose of evangelizing the world. Whether young or aged, rich are poor, man or woman, lay or clergy, we are called by God to serve.
