Her Journey, Our Commitment – HER Success, Our Mission.

At We aRe HER Leadership Academy, we believe that every girl, woman, and family deserves access to opportunities, resources, and support that empower them to thrive.

Founded in response to the growing needs of underserved communities throughout Dallas and Kaufman Counties, We aRe HER provides leadership development, mentorship, workforce readiness, food security initiatives, grief support, life skills education, and community resource connections that strengthen individuals and families from the inside out.

Through our signature programs, including Queens in Training (QIT), Youth Culinary Corner, The Haven, Why Me Grief Support, Golden HERoes, The HER Table, and our Community Connection Center, we serve youth, women, seniors, and families with programs designed to build confidence, resilience, leadership, and long-term stability.

In the past year alone, We aRe HER has:

Our Impact

  • Served more than 5,000 families and over 10,000 individuals
  • Supported hundreds of youth through mentoring, leadership, and life skills programming
  • Distributed food, clothing, household essentials, and critical resources to families experiencing hardship
  • Connected residents to SNAP, healthcare enrollment, utility assistance, housing resources, and community services
  • Engaged volunteers, community partners, and local businesses in creating sustainable community impact

Our work extends beyond providing resources. We create spaces where people feel seen, valued, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

Why Your Support Matters

Many of the families we serve face challenges related to food insecurity, financial hardship, grief, trauma, educational barriers, and limited access to opportunities.

Your gift helps us:

  • Provide leadership and mentoring programs for girls ages 5–17
  • Offer free community resource events and giveaways
  • Expand food security initiatives, including Free Food Fridays
  • Support grief recovery and emotional wellness programming
  • Deliver culinary education and workforce readiness opportunities
  • Increase access to essential household and personal care items
  • Strengthen families through community-centered programming

Every dollar invested in We aRe HER directly supports programs that create lasting change in the lives of those we serve.

Our Vision

We envision communities where every individual—regardless of age, income, or circumstance—has access to the support, resources, and opportunities needed to lead, grow, and succeed.

Mission

Our mission is to empower and amplify the leadership and voices of women and girls. "We Are HER" is dedicated to driving positive change and amplifying the voices of young women of color.

Our vision is a community where every young woman possesses the tools to make informed choices, cultivate healthy relationships, and achieve self-sufficiency. Through mentorship, we nurture her aspirations and ambitions, encouraging her to thrive and reach her full potential. We wholeheartedly uphold our motto:

Our Motto is DEEM! This means Developing their Character, Equipping their Minds, Empowering their Dreams, and Mentoring our female future leaders.

Needs

1. We are seeking partners to collaborate with us on our culinary program because together, we can make a greater impact in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. By partnering with us, you’ll help provide valuable life skills through cooking education, fostering sustainability, self-sufficiency, and healthy living in both homes and neighborhoods. Your support will enable us to expand our reach, offer more resources, and create lasting change by nurturing the next generation of leaders through culinary arts.

2. We are in search of donors and funders who share our passion and mission because your support is vital in driving the positive change we seek to create through our culinary initiative. By contributing to our cause, you’ll be helping to provide valuable culinary education that empowers individuals with essential life skills, promotes sustainability, and strengthens communities. Your investment will help us expand our programs, reach more people, and create opportunities for growth, leadership, and self-sufficiency. Together, we can transform lives and build a brighter future!

3. Mentors and Volunteers are our primary need.

4. Office/Storage Space- We are a resource for the youth and their households, and the clothes, shoes, and product donations we receive need to be sorted, divided, and packaged for our community giveaways, so having a place to prepare would be great.

Equity Statement

To promote the realization of every individual's full potential, "We Are HER" is dedicated to advocating for fairness in all aspects of our organization. We firmly believe that diversity enriches our collective strength, and our commitment is to cultivate an inclusive, secure, and welcoming environment for all.
