Weatherford Whiskers is a unique cage free cat rescue. We have four rooms of loving cats awaiting forever homes. We also have many kittens in our foster program waiting their turn to come in to be adopted. We rescue and foster high risk cats and kittens from local shelters. We strive to get them healthy, socialized, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and adopted to forever homes. We currently have close to 200 cats with fosters and at our facility.
TNR
Our volunteers help with the Whisker Wednesday program at .https://www.weatherfordtx.gov/3432/Whisker-Wednesday. We loan out traps to the community and our volunteers help with TNR. We know that without effective TNR programs the ethical reduction of feral cat populations is not possible.
BARN CATS
We acknowledge that some of these cats enter the shelters with a low chance of being rehabilitated into loving pet homes. We help find these feral cats "working" homes as dedicated mousers. This provides new opportunities for this at-risk population in our community.
PET FOOD PANTRY
Our rescue also provides a "pet pantry" to supplement the needs of pet owners who have fallen on hard times. This pantry is filled with community donations to help feed not only the cats of our community, but dogs as well.
WOUNDED WARRIORS
Often cats come to the shelter with medical needs that cannot be met there. That’s where we step in. The shelter will contact us and we will find the medical care and funds to save these cats.
BOTTLE BABIES
With dedicated volunteers we are able to rescue the most vulnerable of kittens from shelters. Kittens who must be bottle fed every 2 hours and infants just beginning to eat regular food. This is an expensive labor of love. The milk replacement and young kitten food is costly.
Weatherford Whiskers is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue. We rescue high risk cats from our local shelters. Once in rescue we place pets in experienced foster homes where they receive love, are socialized, given top notch vet care including vaccinations & are spayed/neutered, before being placed for adoption. In addition, our highly trained volunteers can also assist with Trap/Neuter/Return of feral cats to their colonies.

At our cat shelter, we believe that every cat deserves a loving home. We welcome anyone who is interested in adopting, as long as it's the right fit for both the cat and the adopter. Our goal is to ensure that each adoption is a perfect match, creating a happy and lasting bond.
