$10,000 Goal

We have saved thousands of animals through adoption, intervention and community assistance. We have programs to match senior pets with seniors in the community and to assist families with pet deposits to keep their pets when moving. We also provide food and services to help those in the community who are having hard times and are facing releasing their pets to the shelter without intervention. We promote spay and neuter programs, feral cat catch and release programs, community education and other programs that aim to end the homeless pet crisis in our area. All donations and adoption fees go straight to the animals and we keep all administrative and promotional expenses to a minimum. We keep our adoptions prices low and work with those who want a pet but might struggle with excessive fees and medical needs. Pets are an integral part of the family and should be available to anyone willing to put their time and effort into loving and caring for a pet. Pets bring so much to our lives, teach responsibility to kids, provide companionship and give us so much including unconditional love. Sometimes those struggling the most have the most to give.

Our Needs

Fosters are our biggest need but funding to cover medical expenses, food, community projects etc. helps us to attract new fosters who have tons of love to provide but not the financial resources to take in another mouth to feed without assistance. The better funding we have the more animals we are able to care for.

Giving Activity

Mission

The West Side Animal League is a volunteer organization that provides support to the homeless and in need animals in both the DFW area and its surrounding communities. We strive to accomplish this goal by raising public awareness of homeless animals available through our organization as well as other rescues and shelters to increase adoptions, assisting families in keeping their pets rather than surrendering to shelters, holding adoption events, promoting the importance of spay and neuter, and spending quality time socializing animals by bringing them into our homes as fosters until they can find their own fur-ever home. We do not have a facility so all animals in our program live in a home environment as members of our family.

We provide vaccinations, alters, and microchip for all foster animals as well as preventative, wellness, and emergency medical care when funds are available. We also assist the community with caring for and being able to keep their personal pets whenever possible to keep them out of the shelter environment.

Needs

Our primary need is fosters! We also need old bedding, towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, puppy pads, dog/cat food, or funds to use to buy at a discounted price.
