White Rock Lake is considered the jewel of the Dallas parks system. It is the largest urban lake in the United States, and at over 1,015 acres, White Rock Lake Park is twice the size of New York City’s Central Park. An oasis in the heart of the city, White Rock Lake Park is enjoyed by sports enthusiasts, picnickers, bird watchers, and walkers from all over the city and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, as well as visitors from around the world.
The White Rock Lake Foundation is instrumental in presenting the case for the maintenance and improvement of White Rock Lake. It coordinates public relations efforts, serves as a unified advocacy group before the Dallas City Council, acts in close and effective cooperation with the Dallas Park and Recreation Board to assist in long-term planning and design, and spearheads private fundraising efforts.
Here is a short list of our on-going projects:

Our Needs
Funding for parks has been significantly reduced by the City of Dallas in the past several years. Your help is needed for White Rock Lake Park to continue to be a true urban oasis. The White Rock Lake Foundation pledges to continue as a leading force to ensure that quality renovations and improvements are reflective of the desires of surrounding neighborhoods and the visiting groups and individuals who utilize White Rock Lake Park every day.
The Foundation presented the Dallas Park and Recreation Department with a check for $151,250 to begin restoration on Winfrey Point. This will be a three year project and cost estimates exceed $500,000. The Dallas Park and Recreation Department matched these initial funds through monies from the 2017 bond package. The remaining $200,000+ will be raised by The White Rock Lake Foundation. Numerous improvements will be accomplished through this effort bringing this long time facility at White Rock to the premier condition that will preserve it for years to come. Renovating the Winfrey Point building will enable this beautiful location to once more host a myriad of community events. On NTGD we hope to raise $15,000 to begin this multi-year project.
