$15,000 Goal

In 2009, members of Wylie UMC realized that many students in Wylie ISD who were on free and reduced lunches were coming back to school on Mondays HUNGRY. They quickly realized that this problem was big, but it was not too big for God! That year, B.I.G.Feed was created. They could have been overwhelmed, But In God, they realized that anything was possible.

Since 2009, B.I.G.Feed has been serving students in Wylie ISD with backpacks full of food every weekend during the school year. It has expanded into all but two schools, and includes snacks for athletic programs, extra food for counselors to give out as needed, and more. In the 2023-2024 school year, B.I.G.Feed gave away over 7,000 backpacks!

We anticipate that our costs this year will be about $1500 per month. This is in addition to the physical donations of food and the support of our local food pantries. Volunteers get together every week to pack the bags and then deliver by hand to each partner school. As costs continue to rise, we know that continuing this work will be more and more difficult...But In God, we know that this is possible!

Our goal is to raise $15,000 to cover the full year of ministry for B.I.G.Feed. Any money raised above that will be added as seed money for the next school year!

Mission

Love God. Love Neighbor. Serve All.

Needs

We need $15,000 to cover the cost of a full year of B.I.G.Feed food costs for the 2024-2025 school year. This is to offset the donations and support we receive from local food pantries and other donors so that we can provide adequate food support over the weekends.
