Music can surpass cultural, ethnic, social, and religious differences, as well as connect civilizations. The vocabulary of the classical music of Azerbaijan, a country standing at the juncture of two worlds, Asia and Europe, East and West, serves as a great example of this ability. Through our organization, we expand the knowledge about Azerbaijan's distinctive music culture. We take leadership in pipeline programs that actively diversify and enrich the field of classical music in the USA. We are also eager to impact the knowledge about American music in Azerbaijan. These cross-cultural relationships provide a deeper understanding and adaptation of different aesthetic values. It helps to become more appreciative of differences in music-making, ways of thinking, and even living ways.
The Azerbaijan-American Music Foundation is a non-profit organization building cross-cultural relationships and "musical bridges" between the USA and Azerbaijan. Our story is simple and straightforward. We were born out of a pure passion for classical music and education. The foundation facilitates multinational educational partnership programs, seminars, concerts, conferences, masterclasses, publications, competitions geared towards the promotion of the Azerbaijanian classical music in America, and the American classical music in Azerbaijan. We focus on bringing music for all to experience and appreciate in a way that spotlights the historical and cultural influences that have formed the common links between American and Azerbaijani music. The foundation welcomes and oriented towards broad participation of all people, of any age, who appreciate music for its beauty, influence, and effect on the inner soul, regardless of their level of knowledge and musicianship.
