We are a mentoring program through the Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. located in Dallas, Texas. We began in 1964 and all provided services are free to our scholars and their families. We serve male students in grades 5-12, by providing educational programs that address budgeting/ finance, entrepreneurship, mental health, digital & cyber safety/security, healthy relationships, and college/career readiness. In addition, we stress the importance of giving back and implement community service into our programming. For our graduating high school seniors, they are able to participate in our annual Earnest Wallace Scholarship Beautillion to receive scholarships to assist in their college endeavors. The scholars and families pay nothing to participate, we rely on community support.
Financial support to fund programming is needed and appreciated. As indicated, there is no charge for scholars and families to participate. In addition to scholarships for our graduating seniors, we provide transportation for college tours and programs outside of our usual meeting place, and we provide meals for our scholars with each in-person program.

"Alpha Merit" is designed and is committed to placing emphasis on keeping our young men focused during their formative years and making positive choices concerning their future.
