Animal Advocates of North Texas

$10,000 Goal

Since AANT was founded in 2009, we have found homes for 3,000+ animals with the help of many fosters and volunteers. To bring awareness to our mission, we:

1) Promote our adoptable animals on our Facebook page

2) Work closely with HSNT when an animal needs medical care and cannot be placed in the shelter

3) Share our mission, promote vaccination and spay/neuter and soliciting help for animals in their local community through events and school visits

I started fostering pups through Animal Advocates of North Texas five years ago. Here are a few things I love most about this rescue:

Compassion For All: They care about each and every animal in their rescue.

Quality Over Quantity: Because they are a smaller rescue, they only take on what they can handle to ensure their full attention and care to the animals in their program. The rescued animals never get lost in the shuffle.

Above & Beyond: They don’t just take the animals that have the saddest stories to get more donations or the most adoptable dogs to make it easier on themselves. They go the extra mile for the animals, the fosters and the adopters.

One of my most memorable fosters was Tinkerbell.

HER RESCUE: Heelers normally don’t work at my house because they chase cats and herd kids or people. I was hesitant to take her but she was shutting down in the shelter. When out of her kennel, she would cling to volunteers for dear life. I couldn’t bear her not making it out. So... we pulled her! Even though we were overcapacity, I didn’t think about it rationally and just said, “load her up”! HER REALITY: Guess what? She was pure PERFECTION! Tinkerbell is great with dogs, cats and kids and especially loves men. She doesn’t herd, but she is extremely loyal and lovingly stays right by your side with the sweetest demeanor. Tinkerbell is calm, silly and smart and at just over a one year, old has the most stunning blue eyes and with a short, low-shedding coat.

We are their "safety net" - a safe place to land while we find each one of them a safe and loving home.

And, in just a few weeks...she was ADOPTED!

Mission

AANT'S strives to prevent animal cruelty and neglect in Keller and the surrounding communities. With hope that the euthanasia rate of perfectly healthy and well behaved animals is reduced, we work to develop a foster and rescue network to increase the placement of homeless and abandoned animals into permanent and loving homes.
