THE Y: WHERE KIDS BELONG

When you give to the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA, you make it possible for every child to find a safe place where they belong. This September, your gift will help us launch a new era of youth development with the reopening of our Central YMCA as a dedicated Youth Program Center—a reimagined space designed to inspire, support, and equip young people with the skills they need to thrive.

Located at 2200 S. Davis, the Central YMCA has served generations of families. Now, after a complete transformation, it will reopen on September 2, 2025 as the Central Youth Program Center—the only facility of its kind in Arlington dedicated entirely to youth. This new hub will provide safe spaces, innovative programs, and vital resources to thousands of children and teens, many from underserved neighborhoods.

Every dollar you give ensures that youth across Arlington and Mansfield have access to meaningful programs, caring mentors, and safe spaces, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Together, we are building a community where kids belong, families are supported, and our city’s future is stronger.

Inspiring Youth To Thrive

With your help, the new Central Youth Program Center and our existing youth initiatives will provide transformative opportunities:

  • Robotics, Esports, & STEM Programs – Building tomorrow’s innovators with hands-on learning and teamwork

  • Music, Dance & Arts – Unlocking creativity through guitar, piano, tumbling, and art exploration

  • Youth Sports & Camps – Fostering teamwork, confidence, and lifelong healthy habits

  • Before & After School Programs – Safe, structured spaces that support academic success and social growth

  • Youth & Government – Engaging teens in leadership and civic responsibility

Investing in Water Safety

Drowning, the leading cause of death for children between the age of 1-4, is preventable. 70% of drownings happen during non-swim times and Tarrant County has high child drowning rates. According to the CDC, formal swim lessons can reduce drowning by 88%. The YMCA partners with apartment complexes, school districts and other community organizations to ensure that kids learn the skills necessary to be safe around water.

  1. Safety Around Water partnerships with schools and apartments

  2. Year-round swim lessons for children of all ages and abilities

  3. Lifeguard, CPR, and Swim Instructor certifications for teens and adults

  4. Adaptive swim programs for children with special needs

Community Need & Impact

Many families throughout Arlington face limited access to safe spaces, quality programs, and reliable transportation. The new Central Youth Program Center will change that by providing:

  • A Safe Haven where kids can learn and play

  • STEM, music, and academic enrichment to spark new futures

  • Sports, swim lessons, and fitness for health and confidence

  • Family Connections that strengthen our neighborhoods

  • Transportation Solutions to ensure no child is left behind

Building a Future Where Kids Belong

Across Arlington and Mansfield, the Y has always been a place where kids can discover their potential and families can grow stronger together. From swim lessons and youth sports to STEM labs, arts programs, and after-school care, every program we offer is built around one goal: giving kids a safe place to belong.

The reopening of our Central Youth Program Center is the next step in that mission—restoring a community hub while expanding opportunities for thousands of young people. With your support, we will ensure that all children, regardless of their circumstances, have access to life-changing programs, caring mentors, and safe spaces to thrive.

With your gift on North Texas Giving Day, kids across Arlington and Mansfield will find not just programs, but a place where they truly belong.

Mission

Our mission: To put Christian principals into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

Needs

When you give to the Y, you’re not just funding programs, you’re creating places where kids feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow. Your generosity makes it possible for every child to belong, regardless of their family’s financial situation.

In 2024, nearly 4,000 children engaged in enrichment and learning through critical before and after school YMCA programs. This year, with the opening of our Central Youth Program Center, your gift goes even further.

Your Gift Makes Belonging Possible.

$100 (or $8/month) provides a child with skill-building youth sports or ESL classes that boost confidence and connection.

$250 (or $21/month) gives a child a week of summer camp or a month of afterschool care — safe spaces where friendships and belonging grow.

$500 (or $42/month) supports programs that combat isolation, providing critical community for seniors, cancer survivors, and families.

$750 (or $63/month) funds monthly Play Days & Y on the Fly, bringing fun, fitness, and friendship directly to neighborhoods.

$1,000 (or $83/month) sustains wellness programs like Livestrong or builds global connections through Y partnerships in Peru.

$1,500 (or $125/month) opens the door for youth in programs like Youth & Government, robotics, and piano — helping kids discover their passions.

$3,000 (or $250/month) underwrites free Safety Around Water sessions at local apartments, giving children lifesaving skills and peace of mind.

Equity Statement

The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA strives to welcome "all" in our community, by intentionally engaging everyone, regardless of race, gender, income, faith, sexual orientation, immigration status or cultural background.
