Art and Beyond, Inc. a non-profit organization based in Cedar Hill, Tx that serves the limited artistic community of Greater Southwest Dallas, Texas, (including but not limited to Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Red Oak and Desoto). Robin Ingle founded Art and Beyond, Inc. in August 2009 upon recognizing an unsettling lack of activities and opportunities for art in the community. Art and Beyond, Inc. will first serve youth, who are often denied art programs in school due to lack of funding and understaffing. Our organization first serves the youth by seeking to enhance and nurture the individual creative expression within the frame work of after-school, summer and spring-break programs. The teaching staff is highly educated professional artist that are expert instructors with exceptional class room management skills. It is the goal of our organization to foster acceptance, appreciation, and understanding of art in our community resulting in lowering delinquent behavior and increasing academic achievement to build a strong foundation for future success.
Art and Beyond, Inc. has successfully run programs since the beginning of the organization. With the generous help of donors and foundations our art programs have served approx. 1300 students. The programs are specifically created to complement the limited art programs in private, charter and public schools. The at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth in the community will benefit from the higher degrees of problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills that are involved in learning the arts.
Art and Beyond, Inc. strives to fulfill our mission through programs that provide students with a hands-on approach to art education. Our organization seeks to educate, support, and inspire students. We will improve the quality of life for students in our community, enabling them to gain creative ability, knowledge, and appreciation.
Our Needs
Help Fund At-Risk Underprivileged Youth! We provide After-school programs that run from August to May, spring-break camps that run in March, and Summer Camps that run in June and July. Within our classes our instructors will be working with the at-risk, under-privileged youth, ages five to seventeen in the Greater Southwest Dallas Area. The students will be placed into classes of 12 maximum. These small classes allow for each student to receive individual encouragement and instruction based on their own unique abilities. Each student will explore their individual creative expression while expanding their skill set with many forms of art, including, but not limited to: fused glass, abstract art, ceramics/clay, acrylics, mixed-media, watercolor, found objects, art with recycled materials, and mosaics.
