Texas Center for Arts + Academics is a Fort Worth-based fine-arts nonprofit that oversees two charter schools, two premier choirs, and four conservatories that traces its legacy through the Texas Boys Choir. Our programs provide high-quality fine-arts education to youth across North Texas with interests and talents in theater, music, visual art, and dance.

TCA+A is a place for the next generation of artists to train and hone their craft in a supportive and creative environment and a place where all can explore, innovate, and grow as individuals. At Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) and Texas School of the Arts (TeSA), more than 900 students are immersed in a curriculum that teaches the principles, skills, and beauty of visual art, dance, theater, and choir. Beyond the stage and studio, we incorporate fine arts principles as part of each class, focusing on creativity, innovative problem solving, cross-cultural lessons, and collaborative peer support. Our high school has a 100% graduation rate, and both charter schools are consistently ranked among the top in all schools in the metroplex.

TCA+A provides students robust and diverse opportunities that wouldn't be possible if we relied solely on state funding for our schools. These include international tours and competitions for our esteemed choirs, after-school conservatories that augment the skills students learn in the classroom, more than 50 performance opportunities each year, and community partnerships that elevate and support young artists. Since 1946, Texas Center for Arts + Academics has made long-term investments in our students' talent and success within the greater Fort Worth arts community and beyond.

Mission

Our mission is to inspire in artistically talented students a lifelong passion for learning, empowering them to achieve academic and artistic excellence.

Needs

The generosity of individual donors enables us to provide school supplies, instruction materials, costume and production needs, and reduces the financial burden on our families for activities and travel for performances for their students. Because we are a charter school, we do not receive any local funding which means we receive about $1,000 less per student than our neighboring public schools. Our ability to provide premiere level arts education to all of our students relies on your support.

Gifts of any size help make a big impact on our far reaching programs providing a strong foundation for more than 1,000 youth every day. Whether our students pursue careers in the arts or elsewhere; the instruction and training they receive through TCA+A will set them up for success.
