Ballet Ensemble of Texas (BET), one of Dallas’ best-reviewed pre-professional ballet companies, today announced the company’s 2024-2025 season that will include productions of DRACULA, Ballet with a Bite, THE NUTCRACKER, and GAITÉ PARISIENNE. The company will perform at both the Irving Arts Center (IAC) and the Coppell Arts Center (CAC).
After a highly success opening performance last season, BET will once again open the season with DRACULA, Ballet with a Bite. This added production to the season will be presented October 26, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., at the CAC, and will feature unique twists to the traditional story. Patrons may also participate in “The Vein Drain” (a blood drive in collaboration with the Carter Blood Center – held from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. October 19, 2024 at the BET studios), “Drinks with Dracula” (prior to the performance) and a “Fiendish Frock Fashion Fantasy” (a costume parade for the audience at the performance).
This year’s production of the classic holiday celebration THE NUTCRACKER willwill be presented in four performances, on December 7 at 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m., and December 8 at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Updated in 2022, the production rings in the holiday season with humor, tradition, and splendor. Guests Artists will include alumni Breanne Granlund and Carlos Gonzalez, both soloists with American Ballet Theatre. More than 200 young dancers from the Ballet Academy of Texas will join BET for this production.
BET’s annual CELEBRATION OF DANCE will feature a BET revival of GAITÉ PARISIENNE & Other Works at IAC on April 5, 2025 at 7:00 and April 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Two student outreach performances at CAC will presented April 11, 2025, and a public performance on April 12, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
BET is the official performing company of the Ballet Academy of Texas and trains dancers who are recognized by prestigious pre-professional training programs across the country. Professional alumni also dance with companies around the country, including Colorado Ballet, Ballet West, Ballet Arkansas, and four former BET dancers currently performing with American Ballet Theatre, America’s National Ballet Company.
As a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, the company is funded largely by donations, and is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, Texas Commission on the Arts, and the City of Coppell.
