The Foundation, established in 1996, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, led by a volunteer Board of Directors who have a sincere interest in the success of the students and staff of Birdville ISD. Since 2001, the Foundation has given $2,014,350 to over 900 BISD educators through the Innovative Teacher Grant Program. The Birdville Education Foundation awarded every campus in Birdville ISD funds for the 2023-2024 school year totaling $125,000.

Every dollar raised through the Best for Birdville giving campaign is given directly to classrooms and departments across the district through the Innovative Teacher Grant program. Grants fund innovative curriculum programming to meet the changing learning environment and demands of in-person and distance learning.
