CASA for the Cross Timbers Area was established in 2002.

CASA was founded in 1977, when a Seattle superior court judge, amidst an overwhelmed child welfare system, grew concerned about making decisions on behalf of abused and neglected children in his court without enough information. He felt that more individualized attention and time for gathering important facts would produce better outcomes for the children. He decided to appoint community volunteers to work on behalf of the children in his court.

Building a Community Where Children Feel Safe and Supported

Role of a CASA Volunteer

  • To provide a voice for the child while in foster care.
  • To recommend to the Court, based on fact-finding, the best interest of a child(ren) in Child Protective Service Custody.
  • To work for and to achieve the mission of CASA CTA — improving the lives of abused and neglected children through court-appointed volunteers advocating for resources and placement in safe and permanent homes.

How You Can Help

You can make a difference! With your support, CASA for the Cross Timbers Area can recruit, train, and support dedicated volunteers who advocate for the best interests of the children and youth we serve. Your generosity enables us to provide resources and champion a brighter, safer future for some of the most vulnerable children in our community.

Thank you for making this crucial work possible!

Donating to CASA CTA is an investment in Texas’ future and our community. Your support helps our program continue to provide quality advocacy to children and families involved in the child welfare system.

It costs about $2,500 to serve one child with advocacy for one year, and any amount donated toward this total will help CASA CTA continue to serve every child who needs us.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, September 19, from 6 a.m. to midnight. Early giving opens on September 1, so you can schedule your gift in advance.
