$5,000 Goal

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to live a great life, and our after-school, holiday, summer, and early childhood development programs help make that possible. Over nearly 50 years, Clayton has earned the trust of more than 100,000 families who have enjoyed and relied on our programs. We are incredibly honored to welcome second- and even third-generation “Clayton Kids” into our afterschool community. As the largest and longest-standing nonprofit dedicated to after-school programming in Tarrant County, Clayton Youth Enrichment is proud of our rich history of serving North Texas families.

Clayton provides a safe place for more than 7,000 children each year to learn and play while their parents finish their work day. We partner with schools to help children succeed academically by offering homework assistance combined with fun, hands-on activities that expand children's skill sets. In addition to academic support, we help children develop teamwork and self-management skills that will help them succeed personally and professionally throughout their lives.

We actively seek out grant funding, individual donations, and partnerships that allow us to offer free or discounted after-school programs at qualifying schools. Our free programs are supported by 21st Century Community Learning Center grants, private philanthropy, and through our partnerships with Fort Worth After School, Crowley Independent School District, and the City of Fort Worth.

In addition to our child-focused programs, in 2021, Clayton partnered with Trinity Basin Preparatory schools to open our first community center, Clayton Community Center - Panola, which provides a safe place for community gatherings in the Fort Worth Meadowbrook, Stop 6, and Polytechnic neighborhoods. This center is a hub for adult education, community gatherings, job search assistance, academic enrichment for elementary and middle school students, and more.

At Clayton, we know families are sometimes faced with difficult financial circumstances due to job loss or health emergencies.  We offer scholarships at our fee-based sites to families facing these unexpected challenges. We also partner with both government agencies and private donors to provide long-term subsidies and discounts to qualifying low-to-moderate-income families. Clayton is pleased to offer discounts to those who serve our community as teachers or military personnel.

"Clayton fills a need for families with young children by being a trusted, reliable partner they can rely on to keep their children safe before or after school and on those days when school is closed, but adults still have to work. But our focus doesn’t end there. Clayton programs teach important skills like healthy communication, self-management, goal setting, and good decision-making. Clayton Kids have guidance to not only help them be better students, but to prepare them to be successful wherever their life path takes them."  ~ Jason Ray, Clayton Youth Enrichment CEO

Mission

Our goal is to prepare children to live great lives. We are committed to serving communities of North Texas by providing quality programs that foster the educational and social development of children, youth, and families.

Needs

The economic situation since the rise in inflation and the recovery from the pandemic continues to have a financial impact on many Tarrant County families. This means scholarship applications are at an all-time high. Your support allows Clayton to continue to offer scholarships and discount to continue to provide safe, reliable, and enriching child care possible for those families who are struggling.

Clayton's goal is to raise $5,000 during North Texas Giving Day in philanthropic donations to put towards our scholarships and discounts fund.

- $95 provides one week of after-school for a child whose family is facing a job loss, health crisis, or other emergency

- $225 provides a full week of summer day camp so parents can work knowing their child is not only safe, but also engaged in fun, enriching, educational activities

- $300 buys all the supplies required to provide six weeks of Science and Engineering-related lessons for an after-school program

Equity Statement

Clayton's leadership believes every child deserves to live a great life. We also believe that every member of our team deserves the opportunity to grow their career and have a positive impact on our community. The organization lives this belief by striving to create a welcoming after-school community that represents the cultural, ethnic, personal, and socioeconomic diversity of North Texas.
