Community Partners of Dallas provides for the immediate and urgent needs of 20,000 abused and neglected children every year, so that they can take their first steps to healing.
We accomplish this important work through the provision of tangible emergency resources, distribution of vital gap funding, access to temporary shelter and dedicated case worker support.
Statistics show that if a child in protective care has a single caseworker, they have a 74% chance of finding a forever home within one year. If that same child’s case is handed off just once, that likelihood drops to only 17% and if passed to a third, only 5% will successfully find a family within one year. CPD plans and hosts events for the caseworkers of Dallas County to help inspire their commitment and motivation and remind them that the important work they do does not go unappreciated.
Our Needs
Funds provide things like emergency needs (new clothing, hygiene products, food, winter coats, etc.), normal childhood experiences (school supplies, holiday gifts, extracurricular activities ranging from band to sports to summer camp, etc.) and support intended to keep kids with family members rather than sending them into the foster care system. General operating funds are also tremendously helpful.
Additionally, we collect a wide array of in-kind goods and work with thousands of volunteers annually.
