Cynthia Mickens Ministries, Inc. (CMM) was founded in 2002 to "provide the tools and resources to help individuals live the life they were created to live."

Accomplishments to Date:

Since its inception in 2002, CMM has achieved the following:

  • Property Acquisition: Acquired nearly five acres of land, including a multi-purpose facility, two 2-bedroom homes, and a church in the City of Hutchins.
  • Board Development: Recruited a diverse and active 10-member Board of Directors, representing a range of ethnic backgrounds and relevant expertise.
  • Community Engagement: Built strong, supportive relationships with community leaders, business owners, and dedicated citizens committed to fulfilling CMM’s vision.
  • Volunteer Mobilization: Attracted a significant number of volunteers who actively contribute to our programs.
  • Program Development: Dr. Cynthia Mickens Ross developed and copyrighted the PathWay to Purpose® Course, which has proven effective in empowering women, men, and youths toward economic self-sufficiency. Over 550 have graduated from this course, with 38% starting businesses, and 18% fully engaged in these ventures.
  • Youth Outreach: Created the Path~Way to Purpose® for Youths, and a Summer STEAM and Feeding camp for children ages 6-14.
  • Partnerships: Developed collaborations with Let the Beat Build, Stem Excellence, and ChristArts Ministries to provide services for our summer camp, North Texas Food Bank, Convoy of Hope, CrossRoads Community Outreach, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension provides education and hands-on gardening classes.
  • Housing Initiative: Secured pro-bono architectural renderings and cost estimates for a phased construction of a 100-unit townhome complex. Additionally, prepared two 2-bedroom homes for occupancy by women and their children in a shared living arrangement for single mothers.
  • Organizational Growth: Developed an organizational development and staffing plan, and engaged a consulting firm specializing in nonprofits to assist in aligning our program with best practices and building a sustainable operational and financial infrastructure.


Our Needs:

To expand our capacity to serve, Cynthia Mickens Ministries, Inc. is seeking donations to underwrite the expense of a master plan to grow our residential housing program and increase the number of women, youths, families, and seniors we can support. CMM's goal is to raise $150,000 to sustain and enhance our existing programs and services.

Cynthia Mickens Ministries (CMM), Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Hutchins, Texas.

CMM's, mission is to transform lives to transform communities.

CMM supports communities facing substantial socio-economic obstacles. The cities benefiting from CMM's programs include Dallas, a population of 6,574,000; Lancaster, with a population of 40,728; Seagoville, with a population of 18,801; Ferris, with a population of 1,857; and Wilmer, with a population of 5,332. CMM provides residential housing assistance to single mothers with children, organizes food giveaways, hosts summer STEAM and feeding camps, and maintains a community garden.
