Dallas Peace and Justice Center

A nonprofit organization

Although we are sometimes called dreamers and idealists, we fervently believe a peaceful and just world is possible; a world in which the lives of every member of the human family is cherished, and all living beings on Earth – and the Earth itself -- are protected from humankind's foibles and follies.

We believe that all conflict between nations should be resolved through peaceful means such as diplomacy, and we offer training, guidance and opportunity to anyone who wants to bring positive change and seeks help raising a banner for peace and justice, nonviolent action for change, and human rights at home and abroad.

Our Needs

We need funding and volunteer support for a number of projects, including our refugee resettlement and support efforts, our educational and community-building programs, funding scholarships to enable more young activists to attend lobbyist and other trainings, and our work in advocating for human rights and a peaceful, nonviolent, nuclear-free and sustainable planet.

Your generosity helps us fight for a brighter and safer future for some of the most vulnerable populations around the world and in our own North Texas community!

Here are highlights of a few of our ongoing projects:

Support and Resettlement Project: we recruit volunteers and raise funds to help resettle newly-arrived refugees and start their new lives in North Texas. We furnish and set up their new apartments, stock their pantries, meet them at the airport and escort them to their new homes, where a warm “welcome meal” is waiting. We provide household and personal hygiene supplies, clothing, school supplies, books, toys and other necessities to ease their resettlement and support them in integrating and thriving in their new communities.

Advocacy for a Peaceful, Nonviolent, Nuclear-Free, and Sustainable World: we use various forms of nonviolent activism, including educational programs, public demonstrations, congressional advocacy, letters, statements, and action alerts, to increase understanding of critical issues facing us today -- such as the increasing dangers of nuclear annihilation and the dire effects of war and militarism on the planet -- and further public awareness about the urgent need to end war, militarism and violence and advocate for diplomacy, peace, dignity, and quality of life for all, be it locally or around the globe.

Spring Lobby Training for Young Advocates: we provide scholarships and lead trips to Washington, D.C. with the mission of empowering youth to develop the advocacy skills necessary to lobby for the advancement of policies that uphold and promote peace, justice, and environmental responsibility.
